Pizza Porcupine Patties

A hot hearty Italian burger for the family to enjoy! It’s not just a hamburger…this patty will melt in your mouth And make your kids go wild for dinner.

1 (16 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup uncooked regular rice
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon oregano
1 instant beef bouillon
1 cup water
1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese or add to your liking

Preheat over 350 degrees F.

Mix only 8 ounces of tomato sauce. In a bowl, add salt, garlic powder, and oregano. Mix well! Add rice mix then add your meat. You made need to use your hands to get the rice and sauce mix thoroughly in to your meat. Shape 6 patties about 1/2-inch thick, and place in an ungreased pan. Bake 15 minutes uncovered.

Meanwhile prepare sauce. Boil water and remainder of tomato sauce in a pan. Add beef bouillon. (I recommend crumbling the cube as best as you can.) Turn down low and stir often. Remove patties from oven and drain. (If you need help carefully remove patties to a plate and then drain, read the patties to your pan.) Pour warm sauce mixture over patties and cover very well with aluminum foil. Rice will not cook all the way with out it being covered tight. Bake 35 minutes. Remove foil and spoon excess sauce over patties. Add cheese to top of patties to your liking and bake uncover till cheese is melted. Remove and enjoy.

The patties are very hot in the middle. Please be careful with children. You may want to have a couple of pieces of bread or hamburger bun to go with your patties. I love to make with this meal some home made French fries. It hits the stop year round. This meal makes a wonderful warm up the next day.
