Fruity Chiffon Cream

1 can Carnation evaporated milk
1 small box any flavor gelatin
3/4 to 1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract or any flavoring (orange or lemon)

Mix gelatin according to package directions. Let set until it just begins to jell. Chill evaporated milk in freezer until ice crystals begin to form. Whip evaporated milk; slowly add sugar and flavoring. Add gelatin; whip together well.

This can be served as soft gelatin or as frozen sherbet.
