1 orange or lemon
Cinnamon
Ground nutmeg
Ribbon
Whole cloves
Tape
Small bowl
Toothpick
Use masking tape to tape the fruit into four quarters. Do not press any cloves into the taped part as this is where the ribbon will go.
Press the whole cloves close together into the exposed peel of the fruit. Don't put any through your tape. If you are having trouble, use a toothpick to punch the holes before you insert the cloves. Put whole cloves in each section.
Remove the tape.
Put cinnamon and nutmeg in a bowl and roll the fruit around int he bowl. Wrap the ribbon around where the tape was, and make a bow at the top. Put it somewhere and forget it for a couple of weeks. Or just hang it and watch it shrivel.
After the pomander has hardened for a few weeks, put it somewhere you want to smell heavenly - such as in a dresser drawer.
